Leading with inquiry

Last week, I participated in several soul collage circles, crafting and 'meeting' new cards, so I have several to deepen with!

With SoulCollage®, we're invited to speak from the cards perspective, rather than telling 'about' the card.

When sharing with others, we each read our own cards. We're invited to listen to each other, as they speak from their card's viewpoint.  We may ask questions to help them deepen with their own card's message - but we try not to make suggestions or give 'compliments!'

And - that's a learning curve!!

It's so easy and familiar to explain / talk story / share the whys .... we're invited to listen, and then speak from the perspective of the images!

Whatever your practice, you can use these journaling prompts with any image - just open a magazine, or your photo album to find an image, and dialogue with it! You may be surprised at what comes up!

Flo -  Committee
Word of the Year with Cindy, for our virtual circle. This one's in the personal qualities, Committee suit.

I am one who ___

  • knows her place in the world
  • sees faces in the clouds
  • is grounded and strengthened by the mountains
  • Is flowing and floating
  • I am Flo!
Beloveds - community
Beloveds was created in Sunday's facilitator training during a Quickfire card session. We then explored their messages by acting as Scribes for each other, in our breakout rooms.
This could be my primary card of the committee Suit! (Seena later wondered why she began each suit name with a C!! And gave us permission to choose a more meaningfull name for the groupings, if we find all those C___s confusing! Our trainer, smiled and said, "but she never changed them.")

I am one who ___
  • holds space for my beloveds
  • stays grounded and creates a safety net,
Beloveds speak:
  • we are each unique, shining stars
  • we bring our curiosity and eagerness, our fears and old stories
  • we are eager to share inquiry and insights
Bloom - Committee
And these little dancers showed up in our Word of the Year workshop on Sunday!

I am one who ____
  • blooms where I am planted
  • loves to dance, and doesn't know I might get it wrong - what's this "wrong," anyway??
  • loves dressing the part
  • I love doing my own choreography, and dancing with the group!

After meeting the card (or sketch, photo, painting) with "I am one who ...." as your promptyou can ask the images other questions:

What do you have to tell me about ___?
What can you to show me about ___?
How will you help me enjoy /  understand / embrace___?

What insights can you share with me?
What wisdom do you offer today?

What is your gift to me?
A symbol to help me remember your message is ___
(Look for an image on the card to remind you - a rose might help me to be more open, the color blue may feel soothing...a tree might remind us to stay grounded... )

And the Golden question: Do you have anything else to tell me?

As I deepen with SoulCollage®️, I select one or two for daily or weekly inspiration.
I place them where I'll see them, and get little messages throughout the day.
I might use it as a prayer focus.

A reminder: SoulCollage®️ cards are not to be copied, sold, traded or  bartered. SoulCollage®️ cards are for personal use only.

We are visual beings, and images help connect us to our understanding of Source!

  1. This sounds like an entertaining type of crafting, as you also learn things from each other.

    1. It can be!
And the practice ranges from 'just fun' to pretty deep!
Counselors and psychologists can count the facilitator training towards their Continuing Ed requirements, and use it in sessions.
My training is more in the 'coaching' range, so if something big comes up, I'd encourage them to see their counselor, bringingalong the cards! (Many folks were introduced to the practice by their therapist)

  2. I love them all but the most precious to me is the little dancers. This seem like a project that would be good for me especially at times when my mind is "wandering".

    1. Aren't they precious!!
The remind me of all the little dancers at our studio (we're going to ballet again this PM)
These could be my middle granddaughters 15 years ago, with friends!
And - in their dance togs & hair up, it was sometimes hard to pick them out of the line!

  3. The restraint of not explaining or complimenting really stands out here. Holding space without steering is its own kind of presence.

    1. To me as well, Tamara! Our painting community aims for this, too - bit it's still a challange to remember!

Morning friendly Space

In a recent podcast , Feng Shui maven Amanda Gibby Peters offers ways to set ourselves up for success in our endeavors by setting routines and areas that support them. Amanda often shares tips for boosting our homes positive energy - these are simple to implement - and you may already i n place!  Early in the year, many folks reevaluate what's working and what we'd like to improve and achieve in the year ahead. Our surroundings can support implementing these intentions.  Vision board -2025 Put your home to bed . I've written before,  that 'tidy folks' often take 'walk throughs' several times a day - putting things away, disposing trash, and tending little things that need doing. Doing the last walk through before bed helps set space for the day ahead, and streamline morning routines. Optimize your bedroom . Is it a dumping ground for extra things? Do you have a system for clothes that can be reworn? ( The 'floor-drobe' isn't the best option!)  ...

What is Soul Collage?

A day or so ago, my daughter asked, 'what is Soul Collage?' ... here's the elevator pitch: Soul Collage cards combine several images, usually from magazines and calendars, assembled and glued onto a card baking. We usually don't include words on the cards, inviting the image to inform is.  The size is either 5×7" or 5x8" - large enough for several images, small enough to work with easily.  When a card is finished, the creator uses several journal prompts to "meet" the cards, and to receive information and insights from the images we've chosen.  The cards represent different aspects of ourselves and of the community around us.  After making several cards, we can use them as we might any oracle deck, consulting or own inner wisdom. We can use them for daily inspiration, or random 'readings.' We can journal more when a card comes up ... In Soul Collage Evolving, founder Seena Frost writes, " The process of selecting images and maki...

Reset - Red Thread Circle

As a group of us prepare  to sift stagnant energy in  our homes, you're invited to set your intention for your space and a bit of Reset.  In our Intentional art community, we set intention in a Red Thread ceremony.  This is  a way to connect as a respectful, mutually supportive group, and begin to inter-weave the threads of our stories.  Red Thread circle The Red Thread has a profound capacity for connecting hearts and minds around what matters. When we face a challenge, we "tug on the Red Thread" as a reminder we aren't alone, and may tap into this web of support. Participants are invited to gather Red Thread, embroidery floss or ribbon, journal, and pour a cup of tea as we begin.    Can you imagine your space as a living Altar?  What is your intention for this cycle? What old stories do you tell yourself about your home? How will you reward your progress? What's your first action step? Take some time to journal on any of these inquir...
