Shadows

 Shadow - too much or too little? In Soul Collage Evolving, Seena Frost wrote,  "every Neter exists in form. It may be visible or invisible, but there is still form,  .... and every form casts a shadow." (P 7)

In our January cohort of the SoulCollage® Facilitator training, we are exploring ways  Shadow aspects of any quality might play out. 

Reviewing my notes from our small group's discussion this week, I was stuck by a comment on a 'Time' Archetype shadow being 'the procrastinator' ! 
Oy! That's a 'too little' expression (and one I have a Master's in!! 😀)

One take away from our discussion is to inquire about potential Shadowed aspects during a reading, and ask the Neter questions; perhaps: 
  • where can you be out of balance? 
  • what are you trying to teach me?
  • how can I find balance with ____?'

Healer Neters share a message of comforting, nurturing, empowering healing, providing remedies. They highlight the ability to give and receive healing. This includes inner healing, and receiving support from others. 

Potential 'too little' shadow expressions of the healer could include imposter syndrome, feeling 'I'm not a healer.' Or a receiver might feel disempowered: that 'someone else must 'heal" me!'

Issues of 'too much' might include a Know-it-all attitude - without adequate training or experience! There's a potential for harm - not listening/ believing a client, or the treatment is incorrect.

  1. "Art is like therapy", I love that and definitely feel it. Whether I'm simply looking at someone else's art or making some myself, there is something magical that happens that brings me back to myself and a feeling of peace.

  2. I totally agree with you about art being like therapy. When I'm having a down day I pull out some things to craft with and it totally changes my mood. I made a sort of collage the other day (no where near as great as yours) and I will be posting my blog about on the 25th.

      Besides relieving stress, creativity can reduce chronic pain! I look forward to your post!!

Be the Reason

  Today my friends Donna and Marvin invited me to join then on an road trip adventure, and we headed North to Hood River and the Harvest Fest! Reset - Red Thread Circle

  As a group of us prepare  to sift stagnant energy in  our homes, you're invited to set your intention for your space and a bit of Reset.  In our Intentional art community, we set intention in a Red Thread ceremony.  This is  a way to connect as a respectful, mutually supportive group, and begin to inter-weave the threads of our stories.  Red Thread circle The Red Thread has a profound capacity for connecting hearts and minds around what matters.
