Archetypes - Council Suit

This SoulCollage® suit is the 'Council of Archetypes.' The word Archetype comes from the Greek 'archetypos,' meaning 'first of is kind.'

Jung described archetypes as part of the 'collective unconscious.' These Larger than Life figures are Universal, appearing over the centuries in many cultures, lands and stories.

We create Council Cards for these archetypal Figures who guide our lives. They can provide the inspiration and wisdom we need to understand ourselves, and perhaps make better choices! Seena called these beings 'Neters' - a word used by the Egyptians for cosmic beings and qualities.

From the description on the KaleidoSoul site: we build this suit "with openness and reverence, following our intuition and allowing the images we are drawn to reveal themselves to us when we are ready."

Wisdom

Seena Frost described Archetypes as, 'the invisible guides, challengers, creators and destroyers, know across time and cultures by many names, yet being somehow universally in the collective unconscious of the human race.'

We might call some Angels, some gods and goddesses, some demons, ... they hold both the balanced and shadowed aspects of each of these energies. Creating cards allows us to dialogue with them, and hear what they have to say.

Council card possibilities
We will often create a card for both the personal aspect (Community suit), and another for the Council archetype. (And sometimes, more than one may be required!)
During my coaching session with GG, she commented, "If the Teacher Archetype is really strong, one might feel the need to take over/ teach when it's not their role!" ... the card I went on to craft during our session was my Teacher Archetype.
Cosmic Teacher (Council)
We can create Council cards either intentionally (like Cosmic Teacher) or intuitively.  We're invited to begin a list of entities we know belong in our own set...
Other archetypes will be revealed as we're looking through images!  We'll often craft a card - then identify their energy and possible suit. (This video offers a lovely overview of the suits.)

As we discover powerful images, we may gather them in a special folder, which we look through occasionally, and craft their card/ meet them as they/ we are ready! .

  3. Thank you Tamara - I have been intrigued by Archetypes and cross cultural stories all my life! Indigenous folk around the world have Great Flood stories - and heros/ heroines who step forward...

  4. I like the idea of making the card and then assessing it to see which archetype it is expressing. That's probably the way I would do it. I love archetypes, and exploring which ones resonate with me! In quizzes, I always come out Innocent as primary and Magician as secondary.
