Word of the Year

 In December 2008, I saw a post in the KaleidoSoul group on using SoulCollage to choose a Word for 2009. Over the years, I've often done a creative process to celebrate the shift from one year, and inspiration for the next.

After creating the card, the word that came was  "PRESENCE" 

Shortly after creating the card, I pulled an Angel card (from the Transformation Game) & it was . . . PRESENCE! OK, OK!! 

'Presence' is one of the newer cards added to the Angel card deck, on the 25th anniversary of the creation of the original deck, & shows an angel in a shower of light. 
Here's a wonderful interview with Transformation game Creatrix, Joy Drake, if you'd like to hear about it's creation and subsequent evolution as a tool for insights and shift. Created in 1975, it's as meaningful half a century later!! 

Presence - 
  • I AM one who shines forth my crystalline being! 
  • I am one who is present & willing to step up & be counted! 
  • I am one who shines brilliantly, to show the way for myself & for others! 
  • I AM the shining Presence of the Divine
  • When I am present, I am able to fully experience & enjoy life!
Some years, I've done another collage process, and created a Vision Board in December or January. Vision boards are generally done using images and words, as we set intention for the future.

The Celtic year begins in October, so this can be another time to set intentions, and vision into the new season and year. 
This can be done in many ways, a card, vision board, journaling... I think I'll make a seasonal card soon

    I love this. I have been choosing a word of the year for, oh man maybe 20 years. Some years go better than others. Percy is adorable.

      Yes - sometimes I've choosen one, and then kind of forgotten it ...
      This year, my friend Cindy offeres an online circle monthly, to deepen with our words. Each time, we make a SoulCollage card, plus another creative activity (my word is Connected)
      Hee hee - Percy is indeed - but can be fiesty!

    I choose a guiding word each year as well. For 2025 it’s resonate.

      It feels like a good touchstone for staying on course - 'does this resonate?'

    Ooh, I love it!! I think I'd like to choose Presence for my word of the year between now and next October, and see what gets harvested in a year. And I am interested in learning more about the Transformation Game, too. Sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.

      Presence is such a potent word, and reminder to 'be here now!' ✨️
      I was so blessed to have for my first T game guide a facilitator who had loved near Findhorn half a year!
      There are some sweet YouTube chats - i played it with my Grands (each player has their Own path) from toddler till ~ 7 or 8, and while adults could take HOURS - they usually 'ascended' in 45 minutes!!

Reset - Red Thread Circle

What is Soul Collage?

  A day or so ago, my daughter asked, 'what is Soul Collage?' ... here's the elevator pitch: Soul Collage cards combine several images, usually from magazines and calendars, assembled and glued onto a card baking. We usually don't include words on the cards, inviting the image to inform is.  The size is either 5×7" or 5x8" - large enough for several images, small enough to work with easily.  When a card is finished, the creator uses several journal prompts to "meet" the cards, and to receive information and insights from the images we've chosen.  The cards represent different aspects of ourselves and of the community around us.  After making several cards, we can use them as we might any oracle deck, consulting or own inner wisdom.
