Prerequisites

Have you done a course or training with prerequisites? In college, it's 100 level classes - though dear Jane Goodall went directly into doctorate classes, without even a bachelor's!

When I made my first SoulCollage® cards~ 16 years back, I enjoyed the process, and several times, considered taking the facilitator training, but other things called. ...

3 Ring Notebook for the training

My friend Cindy became a SC facilitator last winter, and I've made a dozen or so cards with her over the last 9 months. As I've made more cards, the yen to become a facilitator has been pulling - so I entered the preparation stage.

The prerequisites include:

  • Read Seena's book SoulCollage Evolving (I'm working through it)
  • Listen to Intro to Soul Collage (my Soul SiStar Valerie sent me a packet including this CD!)
  • Make at least 14 cards from the 4 suits
  • Take a qualifying Intro course
  • Experience and practice key activities (listed on the central card below)

 Facilitator Focus Cards
So I made a cover for a 3 ring binder to hold my notes on the process and 'meet the card pages' for at least 4 cards from each suit.  Then I used some watercolor blank to make cards highlighting the prerequisites, and looked at options for my Intro class!
Since my first class was with Glenda, and her studio is less than an hour away, I asked her, and she said yes!

We decided on a coaching session, set the date, and I journied to in Salem on a Rainy Wednesday morning! She welcomed me with tea, and we headed downstairs to her Studio.
We spent the next several hours going over Key Concepts and Principles, and she shared insights about how she teaches about and uses the cards.
We left time for me to play with her plethora of images, so I could craft a teacher archetype card (Council Suit)
Cosmic Teacher Neter
I'm understanding the suits more - am identifying where some of my 'Mystery' cards fit!

In the early days, I made this one honoring my mom and dad, and some of their interests.  He was a fisherman, and brought home cool stamps from his job in the Post Office. She loved crafts and loved birdwatching. They were both lifetime learners and spiritual (Christian - and very ecumenical) and were kind with kids.
I don't have siblings, but was close to several cousins. Family Treasures belongs in my Community suit - 'beings that impact our personal stories.'

As I follow the Red Thread, and embark on this new phase of my Soul Collage and teaching journey, will tap their visionary wisdom, as I discover my unique approach!

Is an Adventure or Training is tugging at your soul?
How will you follow your vision?

  2. It sounds very exciting! I'm so glad you are participating in this process and that I get to hear about it. I don't have any particular certification calling me at the moment, but I do love to learn new things.

Morning friendly Space

In a recent podcast , Feng Shui maven Amanda Gibby Peters offers ways to set ourselves up for success in our endeavors by setting routines and areas that support them. Amanda often shares tips for boosting our homes positive energy - these are simple to implement - and you may already i n place!  Early in the year, many folks reevaluate what's working and what we'd like to improve and achieve in the year ahead. Our surroundings can support implementing these intentions.  Vision board -2025 Put your home to bed . I've written before,  that 'tidy folks' often take 'walk throughs' several times a day - putting things away, disposing trash, and tending little things that need doing. Doing the last walk through before bed helps set space for the day ahead, and streamline morning routines. Optimize your bedroom . Is it a dumping ground for extra things? Do you have a system for clothes that can be reworn? ( The 'floor-drobe' isn't the best option!)  ...

Reset - Red Thread Circle

As a group of us prepare  to sift stagnant energy in  our homes, you're invited to set your intention for your space and a bit of Reset.  In our Intentional art community, we set intention in a Red Thread ceremony.  This is  a way to connect as a respectful, mutually supportive group, and begin to inter-weave the threads of our stories.  Red Thread circle The Red Thread has a profound capacity for connecting hearts and minds around what matters. When we face a challenge, we "tug on the Red Thread" as a reminder we aren't alone, and may tap into this web of support. Participants are invited to gather Red Thread, embroidery floss or ribbon, journal, and pour a cup of tea as we begin.    Can you imagine your space as a living Altar?  What is your intention for this cycle? What old stories do you tell yourself about your home? How will you reward your progress? What's your first action step? Take some time to journal on any of these inquir...

Today my friends Donna and Marvin invited me to join then on an road trip adventure, and we headed North to Hood River and the Harvest Fest! An Abundance of Produce It was a blustery, rainy day, but Multnomah falls was beautiful as always, and the weather cleared 'just in time' when we arrived in Hood River and the fest!  Rainy day - Columbia River  We had fun wandering, chatting, eating (I had a gluten free enchilada and corn on the cob, Donna had a braut with saurkraut and potato salad) and visiting.  There were many great vendors, and delightful mini conversations!  Business Card blessing And - so many smiles were exchanged!  They cost nothing, and are so appreciated!  More than once, we heard, " you made my day !"
